Overview

BIZoN 2Ex.24.24 is a two-channel intrinsic safety barrier with an automatic recovery function after tripping. Reverse polarity protection provides intrinsic safety for transducers and equipment installed in hazardous areas.

The intrinsic safety barrier is a dual-channel device. Each channel is isolated from the other and can be used for:

• power supply: up to +24V DC and with current of up to 30mA to a single device (two-wires connection) in a hazardous area;

• signals transmission: a current loop interface: 0-5 mA, 0-20 mA, or 4-20 mA ranges;

• signals transmission via a current loop interface 4-20 mA with simultaneous power supply to a two-wire transmitter (active output);

• transmission of input and output analog signals via constant voltage interface within the ranges of 0-10V or 0-24V (DC);

• discrete input (DI) and output (DO) signals transmission with voltages up to +24V (DC) and a current of up to 30mA;

• discrete input (DI) and output (DO) signals transmission with voltage up to +24V (DC).

The intrinsic safety barrier meets the requirements of EN 60079-0:2019 and EN 60079-11:2017 and has explosion protective markings EX II (1) G [Ex ia Ga] IIC (designed for installation outside hazardous areas).

Intrinsic safety barrier - is the device that limits the energy supplied to a circuit and protects hazardous areas from excess energy. By limiting energy to a safe level, intrinsically safe circuits prevent the ignition of potentially explosive atmospheres.
